NSW Tenpin: Week 1 Season 1 2022

Welcome back to Maccabi NSW Tenpin Bowling for 2022. Last year we had a largely interrupted season due to lockdowns, but we were able to finish the league and run all our competitions. Hopefully this year we can avoid the interruptions and have a smooth season of bowling.

 

The Incredibles started the year with a 7-3 win over The Mighty Underdogs. Ricky Kremer got off to a flying start to the year with a great 165 (45 over avg) in the first game and Dina Kremer bowling a 128 (42 over avg) in the second game to help take the first 2 games. Natai Hanouka saved his best for the last game with a 192 and with consistent bowling from Ari Baram were able to win the last game.

 

Oldies came up with the goods against last years league champions the Swannies also recording a 7-3 win. With Raymond Meinrath producing a great first game of 149 (22 over avg) and Patricia Levy bowling a 155 (31 over avg) in the second game, Oldies took the first two games. Justin Kennedy bowled a nice 212 in the first game and Ronnie Lang produced a very nice 224 to get the Swannies the win in the last game.

 

Bubba Zeida and Manis Manis played out an exciting match with Manis Manis winning a close one 6-5 despite Bubba Zeida winning the overall by just 10 pins. Steve Cohen produced a great final game of 145 (39 over avg) while Phil Levy was a model of consistency throughout the series. Lilik Passman bowled all three games over average (132, 146 & 127) while David Passman produced a high game of 184 (19 over) in the first game.

 

School Daze collected an excellent 10-1 win over Blue Heelers. Kerri Schwartz was the star of the week (series) with a brilliant 582 which was 78 pins over average. This included a fantastic 223 (55 over avg) in the first game, while Howard Baram bowled a good 193 (31 over avg) in the 2nd to help set up the perfect 10 points result. For Blue Heelers, Michael Eisenstein bowled a nice 163 (23 over avg) in the first while Naomi Baram bowled a solid 160 in the third to help take the bonus point.

 

Let’s Roll scored a nice 6-2 win over Mean Machine. Danny Hough produced a 137 (18 over avg) in game one, while new member of Maccabi Tenpin Alexander Itzkowitz produced some great games to help take the first 2 games and the overall series. Mark Katz was on his own and was able to win the third game while also bowling another over average game in the first as well.

 

Highland Warriors have started off the season with an 8-0 win over Searoos. Peter Jablonka produced the Star of the Week (game) performance in the first with a fantastic 235 (65 over avg) and with solid support from Howard Silver were able to win all 3 games against Tony Faust who was on his own.

 

In a one-on-one battle, Rolling Stones took a 7-3 win over Nubees. Despite losing the first game, the Rolling Stones came back to take the last 2 and the overall result. Brian Doobov bowled a very nice 165 and 167 (14 and 16 over avg) in the last two games while Diedre Libbert bowled a nice 149 (19 over avg) to take the win in the first game.

 

With Scmootz a no show this week. Ring of Fire were able to take 7 points to start the season. Rosie Costi bowling her best in game 2 with a 154 (17 over avg) while Billy Schnapp bowling 2 games over average in the 1st and 3rd (153 and 148).

 

Unknown produced a great 9-1 win over The Lads with Michael Horrowitz bowling a fantastic series of 383 (56 over avg) which included a 136 and 149 (27 and 40 over avg). With solid support from another new member to Maccabi Tenpin Tomer Aston, they were able to win all three games. Roy Zurnamer bowled 2 over average games including a 100 (20 over avg) in the second.
