Social Women’s Sport is Back
The Maccabi Victoria Women in Sport programs have come back into action. This is an initiative of Maccabi Victoria to encourage more Jewish girls and women to participate in sport and healthy physical activities and to adopt a positive lifestyle both on and off the field. These are sports programs that allow women and girls from the Maccabi community to play social sport, learn new skills and bond with other women from the community.
Maccabi Victoria offers two Women in Sport programs, social Basketball and Catch Ball. The social basketball program takes place at 8.30pm on Wednesday nights in Elsternwick, and the social Catch Ball program is held at 7.30pm on Thursday nights in Armadale. The women and girls who come to the programs are always energetic and eager to have fun and bond with everyone who is participating.
Over the past few years many of the Maccabi Victoria sporting clubs have become more diverse offering more opportunities for women and girls to participate and play sport competitively at their clubs. The main objective of these programs is for women to be active, make new friends and have fun.
