Speedy Madison wins silver

MORIAH College’s Madison Cohen won silver in the 9 girls’ 100m event at last week’s NSW Primary Schools Athletics Championships, representing her school and CIS.

After winning her heat, and a semi-final, the speedy youngster sealed second place in the final, edged by just 0.3 of a second by Terry Hills Public School’s Havana Gray.

Cohen would have qualified for the nationals in November, if it weren’t for her 10th birthday being in early January 2023, rather than before the end of this year.

On the plus side, she has an extra year to prepare.
