MAZAL tov to Maccabi member Rod Silber, representing St Ives Bowling Club, who was last week named the Zone 9 Senior Player of the Year. As part of his achievements for that award, Silber was the skip for the St Ives team that won the Zone 9 Open Fours tournament the previous year. Rene Saidman, Gail Black, Barbara Shur and Laike Becker (pictured from left) recently represented Double Bay in the 2023 Ladies Senior District Fours tournament. They reached the final, which they lost to Clovelly by just two shots. In upcoming events, the semifinalists in the 2023 Double Bay major singles can be revealed as Jack Kampel, who will play Glen Silver, and Jody Glaser, who will play Phillip Joel. In the minor singles, Michael Fischl will play Paul Collins in the final. Meanwhile, John Nemes has been appointed as the bowls coordinator for Double Bay Bowling Club.
