Big Weekend in the Big V

Last weekend, the Maccabi Warriors showcased their resilience and teamwork in a thrilling double header during round four of the Big V basketball season. Fans were left feeling excited about what coach Jarred Kieser is building, as the team demonstrated exceptional performances in both the youth league 2 and men’s division 2 games.
In the youth league 2, the Warriors faced the only other undefeated team, Surf Coast, in an intense contest on Saturday. The Warriors emerged victorious with an impressive 89-75 win. This display of resolve and teamwork has Maccabi fans eager to see what the young team will accomplish under coach Kieser’s guidance.
The young Warriors continued their winning streak on Sunday, securing an even larger victory, 92-65, against Wallan. The team was led by captain Jarred Fibishenko, who scored 25 points, made 11 rebounds, two assists, and five steals. Richie Robenstone contributed with numerous rebounds, while Jarred Gansky added 16 points to the tally.
The Warriors men’s division 2 team also experienced success over the weekend. On Saturday, they achieved a solid 88-67 win over Surf Coast, with Idan Shamis top-scoring with 29 points. Aiming for a second victory on Sunday, the Warriors’ men narrowly lost, 77-80, to Altona. Despite the loss, Shamis demonstrated his skills once again, contributing 23 points and nine rebounds. Bailey Debortoli scored 21 points, and Adam Klas scored 15 points while making 10 rebounds.
This exciting double header weekend for the Maccabi Warriors has undoubtedly captured the attention of fans and competitors alike. With exceptional teamwork and skill on display, the Warriors have demonstrated that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Big V basketball season.
