Ajax Footy Updates: Celebrating Club Legends and Welcoming Volunteers
There’s a particular buzz in the air this week, and it’s all thanks to two of our beloved Ajax stalwarts.
Brad Caplan: 200 and Counting!
First off, a standing ovation for Brad Caplan, who strides out this week for his 200th game. In the span of our Club’s 66-year illustrious history, Brad joins the elite league of 24 players who’ve crossed this momentous milestone. Considering the unpredictable nature of the seasons marred by Covid, this is no small feat.
Brad has enjoyed a decorated career, highlighted by two key achievements:
- Ultimate team success in 2011 with the C Grade Premiership
- Ultimate personal success in 2016 winning the Club’s Best & Fairest Award
With 150 goals under his belt, it’s evident that Brad’s magic on the field is far from over. Whispers around the club suggest he’s setting his sights on a whopping 300 games!
The Inspirational Return of Corey Zielinski
Resilience has a face, and it’s Corey Zielinski’s. After a challenging period marked by his 3rd knee reconstruction, Corey didn’t let adversity keep him down. Although he transitioned to runner duties during his recovery, we’re ecstatic to see him lace up and return to the field, doing what he loves most. Corey’s indomitable spirit and his position in the Senior Leadership team remind us all about the true essence of sport – passion, dedication, and comeback stories.
Ajax is gearing up for an exciting Round 13 and we send our best wishes to both Brad, Corey, and all our Senior teams.
Calling Volunteers!
Volunteering is not just about helping; it’s about belonging, sharing, and building together. So, whether you’re an ex-player, a family member, or someone looking to find their tribe, the Ajax family awaits you with open arms.
With the introduction of our additional Men’s Senior thirds team, Ajax is eagerly looking for:
- Coach
- Team Manager
- Umpires (Field, Boundary & Goals)
- Water runners
Have the passion and the commitment? We’d love to have you on board. Please reach out at info@ajaxfootballclub.com.au.
To all our members, supporters, and volunteers, here’s to another week of unparalleled footy magic!
