Maccabi Ajax Senior Cricket Update
Greetings, Maccabi AJAX Cricket Community!
Training for the new season is off to a great start, and there’s plenty more in store for players, supporters, and the community at large. Let’s dive right into what’s new and upcoming at Maccabi Ajax Senior Cricket Club.
Training at Junction Oval Nets
For those who may have missed the update, our training sessions are now well underway. Until we switch to outdoor training, we’re making good use of the nets at Junction Oval. Be sure to mark your calendars and come prepared to give it your all!
Specialised Batting Training with Steve Maddocks
We are thrilled to have Steve Maddocks, the seasoned batting coach at Premier cricket club St Kilda, joining us for specialized training. At each session that Steve attends, there will be a net exclusively dedicated for 1-on-1 coaching time with him. Due to the number of players, we’ll be operating on a rotation system. If you’re interested, please notify Bailey Melzak or Stef to include you in the training rotation.
League News: Moving to MCC
Big news! Our First XI and Second XI are officially moving to the prestigious MCC league. After years in the MCA, this move signals a new chapter, allowing us to play on some of the best grounds in Victoria. Rest assured, our 3’s and development team will continue in the MCA where we have established a strong bond. All games in both leagues will be 40 overs per side.
Call for Captains and Chairman of Selectors
Just a quick reminder that we’re still accepting nominations for captains and Chairman of Selectors. Anyone involved in the club can become the Chairman of Selectors; you don’t need to be a playing member. For further information: secretary.macc@maccabi.com.au
Save the Date: First Fundraiser Poker Tournament
Mark November 6th (Cup Eve) on your calendars! Maccabi is hosting our first fundraiser event, which is set to be a grand Poker tournament. There will be activities, raffles, and of course, drinks and snacks. We’d love to have as many of you join us as possible!
That wraps up our news for now. Stay tuned for more updates and keep pushing your boundaries, both on and off the field. Together, we make the Maccabi Ajax Senior Cricket Club not just a team, but a community.
Looking forward to an amazing season ahead!
