Celebrating International Day of People with Disability
Each year, on December 3, we celebrate International Day of People with Disability. This day is dedicated to increasing public awareness, understanding, and acceptance of people with disabilities. Maccabi All Abilities upholds these values daily, embodying respect, inclusion, and empowerment. 🤗
At All Abilities, we adopt a positive approach, offering Jewish people with disabilities greater opportunities for participation in sports and recreation. We embrace the concept of ‘diffability’ – a blend of different abilities – focusing on individual capabilities. 🤩
Our All Abilities program currently includes regular basketball and swimming sessions during school terms, an AFL football team in the FIDA league, and various activities and special events throughout the year. We’re excited to conclude 2023 with a celebratory dinner for our amazing basketball team! 🍕
Looking to join us in 2024? Please contact Caren at admin.allabilities.vic@maccabi.com.au. She’s eager to discuss your needs or hear your suggestions for activities in the upcoming year. 💬
Also, don’t forget to check out the International Day of People with Disability website for more resources and information on inclusion.
