At Maccabi Victoria, as we navigate through transitions, we hold onto the values that unite us: community, inclusion, and passion. This month, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Kate Lustig, our dedicated All Abilities Program Officer, and warmly welcome Caren Lubofsky into this vital role.
Celebrating Kate Lustig: A Legacy of Inclusion and Passion
Before stepping into her role as the All Abilities Program Officer, Kate was already a vital part of the Maccabi fabric. As a netball athlete, coach and Maccabi volunteer, and with her family’s significant involvement, Kate’s connection with Maccabi has been deep-rooted and impactful. Her transition into the official role as All Abilities Program Officer was a natural progression of her commitment to our community.
In her time as AA Program Officer, Kate has greatly enriched our All Abilities program, bringing opportunities and a spirit of inclusion to those living with disabilities. As Kate embarks on her new journey to become a teacher specialising in inclusive education, we are filled with gratitude for her years of service, dedication, and the indelible mark she has left on our community.
Kate, this is not goodbye; it’s a see you around the courts. You will always be a cherished member of the Maccabi family.
Welcoming Caren Lubofsky: A New Perspective and Vision
As we honour Kate’s legacy, we are equally excited to introduce Caren Lubofsky as the new All Abilities Program Officer. Caren’s extensive experience in the disability sector, including founding Aspies: Find Your Tribe Inc., and her work with Aspergers Victoria, positions her as an invaluable addition to our team.
Caren’s personal journey is a testament to resilience and empathy. As a mother to three boys, two with autism and one with high anxiety, and with her own experiences with autism and ADHD, Caren brings a unique, lived-experience perspective to the role.
Her philosophy of transforming challenges into opportunities and her commitment to making a positive difference align perfectly with our mission. We are eager to see how her innovative ideas and fresh approaches will invigorate our All Abilities program.
Join Us on This Journey
To our Maccabi Victoria family, we encourage you to reach out to Caren and explore how the All Abilities Program can be a part of your or your loved ones’ lives.
Here’s to new beginnings and continued success in making sports accessible to everyone. Welcome, Caren, and thank you, Kate, for everything.
