Table Tennis Victoria Pennant Season 3

The recent conclusion of the Table Tennis Victoria Pennant Season 3 offers a moment to look back at the performances and growth of our club’s teams.

Division 2: Champions Crowned

Our Division 2 team, featuring the Cyngler duo – Jack and David – along with the young talent, Brian Tesler, stood out this season. Their consistency and strong play led to an impressive record, with only one defeat. Brian’s remarkable 22-1 win-loss ratio, coupled with David’s 16-1, placed them among the division’s top contenders. Their hard work paid off in a 5-3 win against Melbourne Uni in the Grand Final, earning Maccabi the Division 2 title.

Division 4: A Strong Show

In Division 4, Samuel Bloom, Roman Kluger, and Sam Parasol represented Maccabi admirably with a second finish. Roman Kluger’s return to the sport resulted in a notable 21-6 season record, ranking him second for the season. Despite their hard-fought journey, they fell short in the Grand Final against Albert Park.

Other Divisions: Moments of Promise

The season also saw spirited performances from our other teams. The Division 2 team of Rohan Woolf, Dean Frenkel, and Yori Bargil finished third but were narrowly defeated in the Semi-Final by Melbourne Uni. In Division 3, Mark Levin, Andrew Shostak, and Darren Breitenfeld showed potential, narrowly missing the finals. Meanwhile, the Division 1 duo of Lee Yarrow and Raymond Rozen faced a challenging season but missed the finals by just one match.

As we look towards the 2024 season starting in February, we invite players of all ages and skill levels to join us. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, there’s a place for you in our club. For those interested, please reach out at tabletennismaccabi@gmail.com.
