Hall Of Fame

What is Hall of Fame?

The honour of being admitted to the Maccabi Western Australia Hall of Fame is restricted to those people who were eligible to be members of Maccabi Western Australia at the time of their activity recognizing that elite athletes may relocate, temporarily for the purposes of improving coaching or competition. It is also for sportspeople who have completed their sporting careers or are no longer competing at the highest level

The inaugural Maccabi WA Hall of Fame in 2009 was a milestone to recognise the contribution to the organisation of its best sportspeople and administrators. The committee comprising Maccabi stalwarts headed by Dr Marc Adonis organised a very successful celebration function on 8 March 2009 at the Art Gallery of Western Australia at which the successful nominees for the Hall of Fame were announced.

Hall of Fame Inductees 2009

On the night each inductee was feted in a specially staged production. There were twenty two sporting inductees into the Hall of Fame, five administrators and ten international sportspeople. Two Legends were selected from the Hall of Fame. The classification of Legend was applied to those who immediately come to mind for their contributions to both sport and Maccabi in Western Australia.
