Moriah teams in good touch on Maroubra beach
MORIAH College students had a top time, and were in top form, at the Beach Touch Football Australia Schools Championships, held at Maroubra Beach late last month. Three of Moriah’s teams qualified for the tournament’s grand finals, and of those, its junior boys’ side (pictured) went on to be crowned champions. In more great results for Moriah, its year 3 and 4 teams all performed well at the recently held Sydney Roosters League Tag Gala Day at Queens Park. Moriah’s boys’ B team had two wins, one draw, and one loss, with standout players Aron Isserow, Max Meyerson, Zac Weinberg and Josh Gelbart. The boys’ A team had three wins and one loss, with consistent effort and speed shown by Ari Levy, Judd Chiert, Ashton Goddard and Adam Whitten. But its best team was the girls’ squad, who were undefeated with four wins. Special mentions go to Olivia Spitzer, Amber Isaacs, Charli Roussos and Madison Cohen for playing so well as a team.
