Join Maccabi’s Over 60’s Field Hockey Team Today!

For the winter April 2023 pennant field hockey season, Maccabi Hockey Club – has expanded its team entries with an over 60’s team. The club (formerly Hakoah Ajax) was formed in 1961, will now have presence in the Hockey Victoria senior masters division, for the first time.

Club life members Robbie Gore, Michael Aronson and David Sonenberg have been instrumental in establishing this new squad.

The over 60’s team has reasonable numbers but needs additional players to ensure its viability and success for the coming season. Field hockey, an Olympic sport, requires skill (but can be learned), a reasonable level of fitness with elements of speed and endurance, with returns of teamship and fun.

Training is at Elwood College Hockey Grounds in Shelly St. 11am -12pm. The club will provide sticks and balls . Bring a water bottle and mouthguard (if you have one) Wear runners and sports clothes.
