Sarah Loh

Executive Manager, Future Healthy Group

Sarah Loh has over three decades of experience in sport and recreation management across not-for-profit organisations, local government, and the private sector.

Before joining VicHealth in 2022, Sarah was the Chief Executive Officer of a junior Australian Football League along with two other State sporting organisations.

Sarah has been a long-term advocate on a range of issues including healthy eating, mental health, and physical activity for all abilities. She has championed initiatives that address the impacts of harmful industries in community sport and removal of barriers to active participation.

Hear how VicHealth’s Future Healthy initiative is creating a healthier future for those aged 0-25.

Sarah holds a Masters in Sport Business Degree, majoring in sport and recreation, facilities, finance, marketing, project management and event management.

 

Natalie Lander

Dr Natalie Lander is an Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Faculty of Arts and Education, at Deakin University. Her research focus is around developing and delivering evidenced-based teacher education interventions, which aim to improve students’ actual and perceived movement competence; as well as increase physical activity across the school day.

Natalie has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (RMIT University), a Bachelor of Health Science: Honours (H1) (Deakin University), and a PhD (Deakin University). In addition, Natalie has 10 years’ experience as a leading teacher in both primary and secondary schools, and seven years of university teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In conjunction with her experience and expertise in education, Natalie has quickly established herself as a noted and productive researcher in the field of teacher education, motor competence and physical activity.

She was the recipient of several awards throughout her PhD candidature, and on completion was awarded the ‘Deakin University Shortlisted award for Alfred Deakin medals for Doctoral Thesis’ and the ACHPER Award of Distinction: Most Outstanding Doctoral research.

Despite being only two years-post-PhD, Natalie has produced a number of key publications, has widely disseminated her research at key international/national conferences, and has been an invited speaker and a symposium discussant/chair. Natalie has also actively lead research, evidenced by her track record of obtaining research funding, and securing industry funding via stakeholder engagement (over $200,000).

 

Matt Levy OAM

2022 Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist & Paralympian Swimmer

I am 35 years of age and I was born premature at 25 weeks with Cerebral Palsy and I am legally blind.

I have had approximately 40-50 operations on my Heart, Lungs, Brain and ears.

I am also a swimmer.  I have competed at five consecutive Paralympic Games, winning 3 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze medals. I have swam at 5 World Championships and countless Nationals and other professional meets, won 20 international medals, held 4 World Records and have been awarded the Order of Australia Medal (O.A.M).

I am an Ambassador for Australia Day,  Life’s Little Treasures, Athlete Leader Swimming Australia and on advisory boards for AIS,NSWIS and Commonwealth Games Australia. Board member at Rainbow Club Australia, Ability Options and Governance Officer for the Australian Swimmers Association.

I have a bachelors of business (management), Australian institute of company directors qualification and MBA (leadership) to my name as well as an Order of Australia medal, for services to sport.
