Hiking for Health
Over the past six months, Maccabi’s health and wellness initiative, Maccabi LIFE has sprung into action with a consistent flurry of events to suit all ages and interests within the Jewish community.
Most recently, the first hiking group event took place, which saw 60 people trek from Taronga Zoo to Balmoral Beach.
The group was the brainchild of gold-winning Maccabiah athlete, Nicole Katz, who wanted to share her love of exploring new terrain around Sydney.
“I love a change in routine and I love the opportunity to get active outdoors,” says Nicole. “It’s great to see Sydney from different angles and heights. This particular hike was spectacular – yet so many attendees had never done it before. They were blown away by the stunning view – and that it was so close from their homes!”
The highlights of the hike included the luscious greenboardwalk staircase and enjoying coffee at the end – overlooking water views.
“I was pleasantly surprised when bookings filled up so quickly for our first event. We have received so much positive feedback from the experience – as well as ideas about the next one.”
