Meet Taryn

We’re thrilled to welcome Taryn Levin as our Youth and Community Manager.

Taryn has been involved with Maccabi since she was 9 years old. In particular, with Maccabi Netball, both playing and coaching for over 10 years. Her mum, Lana, was the VP of the Netball Club for many years giving her the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Maccabi.Taryn also represented Maccabi Australia at the 2013 and in 2017 Maccabiah Games in Israel. Together with her netball team, she won Silver as a Junior and Gold as a senior. In the 2013 games she was also recognised as MVP and was team captain.

Any big aspirations for Maccabi NSW?

Having been a part of Maccabi for so long, I have experienced the importance of connecting the Jewish community, specifically through sport and other recreational activities. I’ve seen the impact this has on the potential to create friendships and foster new relationships. My passion is to generate a strong bond within our community by implementing new and effective sport events. I began doing this by joining the Maccabi Social Mixed Netball committee a few years ago. This helped me understand what goes on behind the scenes, as well as giving me the confidence to want to do more for Maccabi – it gave me an itch that I needed to scratch.

I have so many ideas and aspirations that I can’t wait to get stuck into. New social sport competitions, events for sports that aren’t yet a part of Maccabi, more gala days, and more mega camps are just the tip of the iceberg for what I want to achieve. I hope to become a role model for those wanting to continue the drive and passion needed for a successful club. With a focus on young adults, I am passionate about facilitating the growth and development of the Maccabi community and am so excited to be a part of the journey!

Where can we find you in your free-time?

Anything active is my go-to! Netball is my number 1, but I have many other sporting passions. I love tennis, Spike-ball, Padel tennis, stand-up-paddling, skurfing, and even squash occasionally. Spending time with friends and family, cooking, doing puzzles and watching Netflix is the way I like to spend my free-time.
