Maccabi Athletics – Jarrod brilliant in Ballarat
Young Maccabi Victoria Athletics Coach Jarrod Zuchowski (pictured) placed an impressive 15th out of 945 runners in the 2024 Ballarat Half Marathon on April 28, and won the 19 and under age division. His time of 72 minutes and 59 seconds was close to a PB.
Another exceptional time of 74 minutes and 42 seconds was achieved by fellow Jewish athlete Noah Star.
And the first round of the 2024 Athletics Victoria cross country season last Saturday at Jells Park, Maccabi’s division 5 team competed in the 4x6km event. Team members Zac Ashkanasy (20 minutes and 17 seconds), Shanie Landen (22:11), and Ariel Golvan (22:36) were excellent, putting the team in a strong position into the final leg, when unfortunately, Jason Blankfield injured a hamstring in the first 50m.
