Maccabi Ajax Swimming: Hayley Goldberg’s Charity Swim
One of the Maccabi Ajax Swimming Club’s open water swimmers, Hayley Goldberg, achieved a major milestone in the month of March. After learning that her sister-in-law had been diagnosed with breast cancer, she set herself the challenge of swimming 50km in the month and signed up for the ‘The Big Bold Swim’, a fundraising event for breast cancer research. On Monday morning 31st March, joined by an enthusiastic group of supporters at Elwood beach on her last morning of swimming, she completed an impressive 68km for the month!
Our appreciation and congratulations go out to Hayley for this huge achievement and her support of a most worthy cause.
For experienced or aspiring new open water swimmers, our group swims on Monday and Friday mornings at Elwood Beach throughout the year. If you are interested in joining us, please contact the Club President, Roelof Vogel at president.swimming.VIC@maccabi.com.au.
