TOM Melbourne: Join the Sport Challenge

Maccabi All Abilities is very excited to be involved in this year’s TOM Melbourne Makeathon. Their May Makeathon will focus on sport related challenges.

Does your disability make it hard to take part in sport? Do you have a barrier that stops you from achieving your sporting or health and wellbeing goals?

TOM is asking people with disability to submit their challenges, so a team of professionals (engineers, industrial designers, health and tradespeople) can work with them to build a solution over one weekend in May.

When: 22-24 May 2020
Where: Melbourne (venue to be confirmed)

You can apply online to be part of the Makethon. Applications close 29 March 2020.

To get an idea of what happens, you can watch this video from the 2017 TOM Makeathon. It features Beau, who is a quadriplegic, and wanted to be able to play golf with his friends. His team made him a customised golf club grip so he can play sport with his friends, instead of just watching them.
