Maccabi NSW team goes the distance

FOR the second straight year, Maccabi NSW, through its Maccabi Life initiative, showcased its sense of community spirit by forming and entering a team in the City2Surf event. Last Sunday, the Maccabi team – comprised of 30 people aged from 11 to 67 – were part of a total field of more than 70,000 runners and walkers who completed the scenic 14km fun run, that features the legendary Heartbreak Hill and iconic Bondi Beach finish line. Maccabi NSW general manager Ori Danieli, who was part of the team, thanked the JCA for its support of the Maccabi City2Surf team and said participating in the iconic event in this way is a perfect fit for Maccabi’s values of binding the community together through sport and wellness activities. Some Maccabi members’ results included: Saul Greenberg (89th in the 10-14 boys’ category, 1:09.10); Richard Bilski (172nd in 45-49 men’s, 1:02.29); and Nicole Katz (279th in 50-54 women’s, 1:24.00)
