VIC AJAX Junior Football (AFL)
The AJAX (Australian Jewish Amateur Association) Football Club is notable as Australia’s first and only fully Jewish Club competing in the sport of Australian Rules Football.
The club is located in Melbourne, Australia and was first established by the Melbourne Jewish community in 1957.
The junior club was founded in 1972. The junior club fields the full range of junior boys/mixed under-age (U8s to U17s) and girls teams (U12, U14 and U16s) in the SMJFL. The AJAX Junior Football Club has over the years proudly given several thousand Jewish Children the opportunity to play Australian football as a healthy and enjoyable recreational pursuit. From very humble beginnings AJAX has grown from a small group of boys playing scratch matches to the large well organised and highly respected organisation that it is today.
