Junior participation remains a major strength. With 106 junior boys, 5 junior girls, and a record 82 Blasters (aged 5–8), the club has seen clear signs of regeneration in the community. The depth at the younger age groups demonstrates a healthy future pipeline for the club.

The six U11 teams were the largest cohort in many years, showing steady interest in entry-level junior cricket. The 82 Blasters represented the club’s biggest-ever introductory program, reflecting growing enthusiasm and setting the club up well for the coming seasons.

Female numbers remain modest, with five girls registered, but the pathway is active and supported. The award for Most Promising Junior Girls Cricketer, won by Yakira Savicky, is an important step in building confidence and visibility for girls in cricket.

It was another impressive season on the field. Every team eligible for finals qualified, a rare and significant achievement.

  • Six teams reached finals
  • Three teams progressed to Grand Finals
  • Performances across U11, U13 and U15 levels showed strong skills and consistency
  • Five players were selected in representative squads, highlighting the strength of club coaching and player development

Across the finals series, Maccabi teams showed resilience and quality cricket in challenging conditions. While the Grand Final results didn’t all fall our way, the competitive spirit and performance across all grades were outstanding.

The club recognised standout performances through the 2025 awards:

  • Most Outstanding Junior: Gilad Lowinger

  • Most Improved Junior: Max Raleigh
  • Player of the Finals: Jordan Suss
  • Outstanding Representative Performance: Ethan Sacks

These awards reflect not just talent, but commitment, consistency, and contribution to the team.

Maccabi teams featured strongly in the news throughout the finals campaign. Key performances included:

  • The U13 Chargers bowling out Mt Waverley for 110 after being 3/98 down, then ending the day 0/25.
  • The U15 Titans dismissing Kerala for 120 thanks to wickets from Zac Rostkier and Ethan Sacks.
  • The U11 Warriors taking 5/8 through Gavi Hersh to secure a final-round win.
  • Girls’ cricket continuing to grow, with strong results in the semi-finals and finals.

Grand Final day saw close contests across all divisions. Despite some narrow losses, the teams fought hard and represented the club proudly, with strong community support at every venue.

The club’s coaching group and 24 volunteers (coaches and team managers) played a central role in the success of the year. Their weekly commitment ensured high-quality training sessions, well-managed game days, and a supportive environment for players at every level.

With record numbers in the Blasters program and six U11 teams already in the system, the club is well placed for continued growth. Strengthening the girls’ pathway, maintaining strong representative participation, and supporting player development across all grades remain key focuses for 2026.

The foundations built this year show that junior cricket within the Jewish community is thriving. The club enters next season confident, stable, and energised by the impressive performances and growing participation seen throughout 2025.
