Integrity Policies

THE INTEGRITY VISION

  • To establish and maintain a transparent integrity system that applies at all levels of Maccabi in Australia.
  • To establish and maintain policies and procedures that:
    • work to protect the rights and interests of all those persons who participate or are otherwise involved in Maccabi activities, with the aim of providing a sporting environment free of child abuse, unlawful discrimination, harassment and bullying;
    • explain the rights and obligations that each Participant has under relevant legislation;
    • enable Participants to complain if they believe they have been treated inappropriately; and
    • enable Maccabi to take disciplinary action against Participants who do not act in accordance with its standards.
  • To provide capable and innovative leadership and arrangements that ensure that this vision is successfully implemented and maintained in an open and accountable fashion and on an ongoing basis in a manner that will, as far as possible, help to unite and protect Maccabi and its people.

   Code of Conduct

The Maccabi Code of Conduct sets the standard for respectful, inclusive, and responsible behaviour across all levels of sport within the Maccabi community. It outlines clear expectations for athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters to ensure a safe, welcoming and fair environment for everyone. Maccabi wants to promote integrity, teamwork and community spirit. The Code of Conduct gives everyone a set of guidelines to achieve this.

Safety and Wellbeing of Children, Young People & Vulnerable People

The Maccabi Safety and Wellbeing of Children Young People and Vulnerable People Policy explains how Maccabi seeks to ensure a safe, positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all young participants. This policy aims to ensure everyone involved in Maccabi – children, young people, parents, carers, coaches, staff and volunteers – understand their rights and responsibilities for keeping children, young people and vulnerable people safe. It outlines what behaviour is acceptable and unacceptable, and what steps to take if you ever feel unsafe, upset, or harmed.

   Member Protection and Inclusion Policy

Maccabi Australia aims to ensure that everyone involved with Maccabi is treated with respect and dignity and is protected from bullying, harassment, unlawful discrimination, victimisation, and vilification.

The Maccabi Member Protection & Inclusion Policy seeks to ensure that everyone involved in Maccabi is aware of their rights and responsibilities. This Policy sets out the standards of behaviour expected of those involved in Maccabi and the behaviours that are not acceptable.

    Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy

Maccabi Australia aims to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of all members by promoting a responsible approach to alcohol and other drugs. The Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy outline clear guidelines to prevent misuse, encourage informed choices and ensure that Maccabi events, training sessions and competitions remain safe and inclusive environments. A culture of respect and accountability, the policy supports Maccabi’s mission to provide positive sporting experiences that reflect our community’s values and wellbeing.

   Competition Manipulation and Sport Wagering Policy

Maccabi Australia strives to uphold the integrity of sport by actively preventing competition manipulation and improper sports wagering. This Competition Manipulation & Sport Wagering policy applies to athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers. It strictly prohibits actions such as match-fixing, betting on events within one’s sport, and sharing insider information. These measures ensure that all competitions remain fair and free from corruption. By fostering transparency and accountability, Maccabi Australia reinforces its dedication to a trustworthy and ethical sporting environment.

   Dealing with Incidents, Complaints and Disputes

Maccabi Australia strives to provide a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members. The Dealing with Incidents, Complaints and Disputes Guidelines follow a clear and transparent process to ensure matters are addressed promptly, fairly, and confidentially. On resolution, accountability, and the wellbeing of all involved, Maccabi encourages open communication and upholds the principles of fair process throughout its complaints handling procedures.
