🤽 Maccabi AJAX Waterpolo
Maccabi AJAX Waterpolo remains one of the smaller clubs in the Maccabi Victoria family, but what we lack in size we make up for in commitment, consistency, and culture. With 14 senior male members training and competing together each week, the club continues to offer a welcoming environment for players who want to stay active, learn new skills, and connect with community through sport.
Our program currently operates as one senior/open squad, supported by three dedicated committee members and a rotating group of volunteers who help run training, manage logistics, and support game nights.
New players are always welcome.
Training: Mondays at Bialik
Games: Thursday nights at MSAC
2025 Impact
Despite being small, 2025 has seen encouraging growth in engagement:
- Welcomed several new players, including first-timers who have quickly found their place
- Strong interest from beginners and return-to-sport athletes
- Training attendance has improved, especially at Monday sessions at Bialik
This increase in energy around the club is a promising sign as we work to build our numbers for next year.
2025 has been a strong and steady year in the pool:
- The team has been competitive all season and remains in the mix for finals
- Many players have shown significant personal improvement, especially new members completing their first full season
- While no formal awards were presented, the year has been full of internal milestones and notable performances
Match nights at MSAC continue to be a club favourite, combining competition and community in a way that keeps players coming back.
This year the club focused heavily on accessibility and enjoyment, with:
- Ongoing ’come and try’ sessions during Monday training
- A training environment that supports all skill levels, from first-timers to long-term members
- Post-game catch-ups and social time that help strengthen team connection
- Consistent participation in Thursday night MSAC competitions
The club’s culture remains one of its strongest assets: inclusive, relaxed, and built around showing up, working hard, and enjoying the sport.
The club’s goals for the coming year are focused and achievable:
- Grow membership from 14 to 20 players
- Explore entering a second team if numbers allow
- Increase community engagement, including outreach to local schools and networks
- Continue building competitiveness with the clear aim of making finals
The club also intends to continue developing the social and welcoming environment that sets it apart, ensuring waterpolo stays accessible to anyone interested in giving it a go.
