⚽ Maccabi FC Caulfield
It was another strong year of football in Caulfield Park, with over 700 members taking part across programs for children, teens and adults. Every Sunday morning, the park was filled with orange hoodies, parents on the sidelines, and kids gaining confidence through play.
From the vibrant energy of our Little Strikers and MiniRoos, whose infectious enthusiasm reminds us why we love this sport, to the fierce determination of our Junior Boys and Girls teams who continue to develop their skills and friendships, every age group has contributed to a truly memorable year.

The club fielded 34 junior teams across boys and girls, from U8 through to U18. Each team was supported by multiple volunteers behind the scenes — coaches, team managers, game-day helpers and parents.
One highlight this year showed what happens when players choose challenge over comfort:
U12 Boys Blue: Rising to the Challenge
Mid-season, the team moved themselves from the B division into the A division. They wanted to play harder football, against stronger clubs.
Under Coach Sam Want and Team Manager Steven Tang, the boys stepped up, adjusted, and learned how to compete with maturity. They finished mid-table, but the real win was the growth in how they played.
The club continued to expand programs designed to make football approachable and enjoyable for different groups:
-
Soccer Mums
Designed for women 35 and over, this program provides a welcoming, non-judgmental space to learn, move and socialise through football. -
Mighty Bees
A low-cost and inclusive program for children with diverse abilities, focused on confidence, activity and connection. -
Walking Football
A slower-paced version of the game that emphasises movement and social connection, including the Parky Soccergroup for players living with Parkinson’s.
These programs show that football at Maccabi is not only competitive — it is community-minded.
-
The Macca-Bee of the Week (supported by The Pita Man) recognised players who demonstrated teamwork, support, sportsmanship and resilience — reinforcing that success is not only measured by goals.
-
On 27 July, players wore purple socks for PanKind Australia, raising nearly $500 for pancreatic cancer research.
-
To close out the season, the club hosted a Gala Day at Caulfield Park. Hundreds of children and families came together for awards, a community barbecue, and parent/child social matches — a simple and meaningful way to finish the season.
The club is now entering a new phase of development, with several programs being built to strengthen pathways both for players who want to play socially and for those who want to push themselves further.
-
Futsal Returns
Futsal is being reintroduced at the club for the first time in several years, with at least six teams planned across girls’ and boys’ age groups. This provides a structured, skill-focused playing option over summer that keeps players connected to the club and the sport. -
Stingers Development Program
A new Stingers program is being established to support players looking for a higher standard of football and more focused skill progression. This is designed as a next step for those who want to train harder and compete at a stronger level. -
Early Years Football (Ages 2–6)
A renewed pathway for the youngest members is being put in place, allowing children as young as two to join introductory sessions that focus on movement, coordination and confidence-building. -
Partnership with Melbourne Victory FC
The club is reinstating its partnership with Melbourne Victory FC in the community football space. This collaboration will support coach education, program design, and long-term player development.
These developments reflect a clear direction:
welcoming football for those who want to play for fun — and structured pathways for those who want to progress.
