2025 has been a year of strong growth and achievement for the Maccabi Pickleball Club. From increased female participation and medal wins at tournaments, to successful social and junior programs, we’ve made great strides. Looking forward, we are excited about expanding
2025 Impact
Total Members: 59

Key Highlights:
- We’ve seen several members competing in external tournaments both interstate and in Victoria, highlighting the competitive spirit that’s growing within the club.
Growth Areas:
- The most notable growth has been in female participation, with a steady increase in the number of women joining the club since its inception. This marks a key milestone in our club’s development and inclusivity.
Tournaments & Awards:
- This year, the club had strong representation in various tournaments, earning multiple medals and further establishing ourselves as a competitive force. Some of our medal winners include:
- Adam Hoppe
- Adam Levin
- Adam Pastor
- Brody Hoppe – Australian under 14 doubles champion
- David Lurie
- Dean Mohr

- Angie Hoppe
Club Performance:
- Looking to 2026, we are aiming to host our first intra-club tournaments. This will be a great way to boost internal competition, strengthen community ties, and showcase the talent within our club.
Social Programs:
- Our weekly social play sessions remain one of the cornerstones of the club, providing an inclusive environment for intermediate, high-intermediate, and top-level players to come together and enjoy the game.
Beginner Coaching:
- To help new members get up to speed and feel at home, we’ve continued to offer beginner coaching. This has been essential in supporting newcomers as they develop their skills and integrate into the club.
Junior Coaching and Game Play:
- We’ve had great success with our junior programs, which combine skills and drills with round-robin style gameplay. This structure not only helps kids improve technically but also gives them the chance to compete in a supportive, fun environment.
Fundraising:
- This year, we held a successful fundraiser in support of Maccabiah 25, raising funds for the event while also raising awareness within the community.
Kids’ Tournament:
- The club hosted a kids’ tournament, giving younger players a platform to compete and develop their skills in a friendly, encouraging environment.
Committee Restructure:
- With Nicola stepping down from her role, we are in the process of creating a new committee to ensure shared workload.
New Programs:
- For 2026, we plan to roll out new programs aimed at helping beginner to intermediate players further develop their skills. These programs will not only help with individual growth but also help expand the club’s reach and membership.
Intra-Club Tournaments:
- We plan to reach out to other clubs in the area to organise intra-club tournaments. This will create more competitive opportunities and strengthen the network of pickleball players within our region.
Women’s group:
- Monthly social hits to enable women of all abilities to play together and further increase women’s participation.
Cost-Effective Facility Solutions:
- We are actively exploring alternative facilities to reduce court hire costs, which will help us maintain the club’s financial sustainability while ensuring that we continue to offer high-quality playing and training opportunities.
