2025 Impact
Select Distinguished Club Status
This year, the club earned Select Distinguished status from Toastmasters International.
This recognition reflects:
-
Strong new member recruitment
-
Effective mentorship and onboarding
-
Consistent completion of Pathways levels
-
High-quality meetings and member engagement
It is one of the highest performance markers a Toastmasters club can achieve.
Success on the Competition Stage
2025 was also a standout year for competitive speaking:
-
Carin Danon, Club President, reached the District 73 Final in the Humorous Speech Contest (2024–2025 cycle). This is a major accomplishment given the scale of competition across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
-
For the 2025–2026 contest cycle, two club members have already progressed to the Division Contest, to be held in March 2026.
These achievements highlight the strength of the club’s coaching, support systems, and member dedication.
Maccabi Toastmasters meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, bringing together:
-
Club officers
-
Regular members
-
Guests who are exploring Toastmasters for the first time
Meetings provide a structured yet supportive environment where speakers practise prepared speeches, evaluations and impromptu speaking.
Beyond formal meetings, the club also hosts social gatherings, including:
-
An annual end-of-year celebration
-
Informal catch-ups to strengthen connection and community
Each session provides a platform for members to build confidence, test new ideas and share stories.
The club’s focus for next year includes:
-
Continuing to grow membership
-
Enhancing mentorship and onboarding
-
Supporting members through the Pathways education program
-
Encouraging wider participation in contests
-
Maintaining a warm, inclusive environment where public speaking feels achievable for everyone
The goal remains simple: to help people communicate clearly, confidently and authentically.
