Zac Wolfe, Back to Back Golfing World Champ

In the world of golf, there are some players who naturally stand out not only for their talent but for the passion and dedication they exude. Every once in a while, we witness the rise of a prodigious talent, one that makes us stop, look, and marvel. Enter Zac Wolfe, the 7-year-old Melburnian golf prodigy who is swiftly carving a niche for himself in the international golf scene.

Zac’s journey with golf has been nothing short of meteoric. Fresh off the heels of attending the Maccabi Golf Club’s Moonah event in June, Zac traveled to North Carolina (USA) for the 2023 U.S Kids World Championships and is now a back-to-back world leader; winning first place at this competition for the second time! Maccabi Golf backs Zac wholeheartedly on this thrilling professional journey, celebrating every achievement and milestone.

Recently, Zac took to Instagram to share his heartfelt experience at the U.S Kids Golf World Champs. It’s a story of hard work, resilience, and the incredible support system that surrounds him. Here’s what he had to say:

“Back to back 🌎 world champion 🏆🏆

On the long ✈️ trip back home to 🇦🇺 after winning last year’s @u.s.kidsgolf World Championships I told Dad that I was a beast at Pinehurst this year (2022), but that next year I was going to be a bigger beast! In that moment, ‘Operation Bigger Beast’ (or ‘BB’) was born.

All year, my Team and I worked our 🍑 off, in pursuit of becoming a BB! @richardwoodhousegolf and I went back to fundamentals and rebuilt my golf swing, with Rich also mentoring me to improve my mental preparation, practice and on course processes. @callawaygolfaus and @ernestperformance built my dream golf bag – I’ve never felt more confident standing on the tee than with my custom fit #Paradym! The members, staff, committee and my mates at @huntingdalegolfclub created an environment where I can train hard and be myself – always helping to lift me during long hard sessions and spur me on. @247golf generously helped Dad and I take over our front living room by installing a golf sim, allowing me to practice during what was a particularly cold and bleak winter. And like always, my @wearegravityfit TPro was practically glued to my back, @back2basicsgolf mirror to my putter and @draw_more_circles sharing insights to help me practice smarter! At the @ausopengolf, @golfaust and @pgaofaustralia helped me meet some of my heros in @cameronsmithgolf, @minwoo27lee and @adamscottofficial and every week, so so many of you reached out with words of encouragement, motivation and support!

Unless you’ve seen it in person, it’s hard to fathom how incredibly talented the junior worlds field is each year! This year I had the pleasure of playing a practice round with my friend @daciodiaz, being in the leading / final group each day and making new friends with playing partners Griffin, Ko, Keegan, Ben and battling it out with my mate @sean.wilding, who flushed it all week and pushed me all the way! @u.s.kidsgolf and @pinehurstresort host what can only be described as a magical event. The opportunity to ride in the Parade of Nations as the previous year’s champion is something I’ll never forget (and now get to do again 👏), as was soaking up the festivities and playing No 2 and the Cradle with @futuregolfaustralia – who created the local tour pathway that got me here!

@midpinesinn is an incredible course that made for an extremely enjoyable challenge (Donald Ross must have been a hell of a putter). I’m really proud of the way i adapted my game to suit the layout and some of the shots I played that aren’t exactly stock sandbelt golf. We rarely fired at pins, treated pars like birdies and did everything possible to prepare and recover from long days in the scorching heat.

I may only be 7, but golf has already given me so much that I’m grateful for. Here’s to many more years trying to find that perfect window I have in my head, pushing and learning about my self, making special friendships and wonderful memories.
