The echoes of cheers still resonate around the fields, and the afterglow of a fervent Grand Finals weekend lingers within the Ajax Junior Football Club. On the 10th of September, the robust U14 Rockets and the formidable U15 Jets adorned the red, white, and black, representing the club with relentless spirit and unyielding resolve.
U14 Rockets – A Symphony of Triumph
Mazel tov to the U14 Rockets who conquered the Division 4 premiership with a thrilling 34-point victory over the resilient Beaumaris! It was the third encounter in three weeks with this formidable side, and each battle saw the Rockets prevailing, embodying their tireless hard work and determination throughout the season. The final triumph had the Rockets capturing the much-coveted flag, a testament to the meticulous dedication invested by Coach Gabe Dukes, Team Manager Dion Wise, and the exceptional squad in 2023.
Josh Levy, who showcased great skill, courage, and speed, was deservedly awarded the man of the match. The synergy and standout team effort of all players brought immense joy, and Ajax Junior Football Club looks forward to potentially going back to back in 2024.
U15 Jets – A Display of Resilience
The Grand Finals were a concoction of excitement, energy, and unwavering spirit for the U15 Jets. Despite the energy-charged atmosphere and a resilient fight, the Jets fell short against a polished opposition, exhibiting class in every dimension of the game. However, the Jets showcased their undying team spirit and resilience, fighting for the win until the very last minute.
The lessons learned from this finale are pivotal and will fuel the fire for the next season, with skill development being a central focus for the squad as they aim to go one step further next year.
