Consistent Effort Leads to Impressive Results – Maccabi Athletics
Even during the break, our Maccabi Athletic club athletes have been actively training and competing, showing their dedication and hard work. Their efforts have led to some noteworthy performances in recent events.
Key Highlights from Recent Meets
- Shanie Landen’s Performance: On December 21st, at the Miler’s Club in Box Hill, Shanie Landen ran the 1500m, recording a strong time of 4min 32.32sec.
- High Velocity Meet Achievements: On January 6th, 2024, Danielle Axarlis, Ollie Kranz, and Ben Blecher competed at the High Velocity meet at Lakeside. All three ran the 200m close to their personal bests despite challenging hot and humid conditions. Danielle finished with a time of 26.71, Ollie at 23.31, and Ben closely followed with 23.33.

Maccabi Run Club Update
Jason Blankfield (ph 0487 558 585) and his team are coordinating the Maccabi Run Club. The next run is planned for January 21st, 2024, with time and place to be confirmed. For more information or to express interest in the Maccabi Run Club, please contact Jason and join the club’s WhatsApp group.
Training Resumes
Training sessions will start again on Sunday, January 14th, at 10 am at Duncan Mackinnon, offering a good opportunity for athletes to prepare for upcoming events.
