Mitzvah Boys’ Generosity Rewarded with Football Surprise
A Special Surprise
In a wonderful gesture of giving back, Hudson Solomon and Mason Goldstat recently celebrated their Bar Mitzvahs by becoming Maccabi Simcha Support Donors. Instead of receiving gifts, they asked their guests to donate to their chosen Maccabi causes. Hudson directed his campaign towards Maccabi Fee Relief, while Mason chose to support the Israel Appeal.
To honour their incredible gesture, an anonymous benefactor arranged a special surprise for Hudson and Mason at training this week. Both boys, who are passionate Ajax footy players, received signed footballs from their favourite players. Hudson was overjoyed to receive a ball signed by Brad Crouch (#5) from St Kilda Footy Club, and Mason was ecstatic with his ball signed by Mitch McGovern (#11) from Carlton Footy Club. This unexpected gift was a moment of pure excitement and joy, making their Bar Mitzvah celebrations even more memorable.
Supporting Maccabi Fee Relief
Hudson’s donations were directed to the Maccabi Fee Relief fund. With the rising costs of living, there’s a continued need to ensure no Jewish individual misses out on participating in Maccabi sports due to financial hardship. The hardship relief funding allows us to support individuals and families in need, ensuring they can stay connected with the community through Maccabi clubs and events.
Aiding the Israel Appeal
Mason’s contributions supported the Israel Appeal. Maccabi Australia, together with Maccabi World Union, is dedicated to supporting Israeli communities affected by the recent terror attacks on Southern Israel. This appeal aims to provide much-needed aid and relief to those impacted by these tragic events.
Get Involved in Simcha Support
We are immensely grateful to Hudson, Mason, and their families for their generous contributions. Their decision to share their simchas with us sets a beautiful example of giving back to the community. If you have a special event coming up, why not consider marking your milestone by asking for donations to the Maccabi Foundation? You can choose to make a general donation or direct your funds to a club, program, or project that holds special significance to you.
