Impressive distance running at Maccabi Athletics

Some impressive distance running over the past few days by a couple of our seasoned champions!
Israeli 800m record holder Shanie Landen (Ilia’s wife) had her first hit out for the club this 2024 season with a great 3000m race at the Lakeside Milers Club on the 14th November finishing 2nd in the A grade race in the time of 9 min 39.21 sec.

Coach Jarrod Zuchowski ran and won the Frankston Running Festival 5K road race in a solid 16min 12 sec as he prepares for a number of 5K and 10k events over the forthcoming months.
At AVSL competition at Aberfeldie it was terrific to welcome Master’s athlete John Gould back to competition where he threw the javelin 24.49m.
Danielle Axarlis (13.35) and Keira Donner (13.89) represented the club in the 100m races also as Aberfeldie track.
The AV club relay championships will be held on the weekend of the 23rd November at the Doncaster Track. The club will be entering a number of Open and junior teams. Team managers will be contacting athletes through this week with team selections.

The next AVSL Round at Duncan Mackinnon will be held on 30th November 2024 – where once again we will be aiming to have many athletes competing.
You can enter the competition on Wednesday 20th November : https://athsvic.org.au/events/avsl-round-06/
