North Caulfield Maccabi FC had a memorable round 19 in the men’s state league 2 south-east season at Caulfield Park last Sunday, as both their squads delivered the goods against the Casey Comets in front of a happy home crowd.
In first grade, Maccabi came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over the fourth placed side, sealed with a late winner by Micki Schneider, after Daniel Sacks put them level with a penalty goal.
The win moved them up one spot to eighth on the 12-team ladder, with three rounds remaining.
The Maccabi reserves continued their strong form with a dominant 5-1 victory over Casey, and are now coming seventh.
Jeremy Morgenstern and Arel Liderman scored two goals each and Eial Donnenfeld one.
