Senior Men – Premier C Final 1
AJAX v St Bedes/Mentone – Trevor Barker Oval
AJAX booked their spot in the next stage with a hard-fought 5-point win over St Bedes/Mentone in the Premier C final.
The Jackas started strongly, leading 17–1 at quarter time, but St Bedes fought back to edge ahead by 4 points at the half. AJAX responded with a dominant third quarter, controlling play but struggling with accuracy in front of goal, finishing with 5.15 by the final break.
In a tense last term, St Bedes kept the pressure on, but AJAX’s scoring spread and persistence carried them home, 7.16 (58) to 8.5 (53).

Reserves Men – Final 1

AJAX Reserves fell short in their final against St Bedes/Mentone, going down by 11 points.
The Jackas made a strong start, leading 16–7 at quarter time and holding a narrow advantage at the half. St Bedes, however, wrestled back momentum in the third term to edge ahead by 2 points at the final break. In the last quarter, AJAX couldn’t convert their opportunities, while St Bedes finished more cleanly to secure the 9.6 (60) to 7.7 (49) result.

Sunday Firsts – Premier Thirds Grand Final
AJAX v Old Xaverians – Elsternwick Park, Sunday 31 August 2025
AJAX’s Premier Thirds made club history by reaching their first ever VAFA grand final, but ultimately fell short against ladder-leaders Old Xaverians.
The Jackas fought bravely, trailing by only 5 points at half time after outscoring their opponents in the second quarter. Early in the third, they even took the lead by a point thanks to a brilliant boundary-line goal from Josh Jones. But Old Xaverians steadied, kicking four goals late in the third before sealing the contest in the last 20 minutes with a seven-goal surge. The final score read 17.13 (115) to 9.6 (60).
Captain Zev Aron praised the opposition as deserving winners before turning to acknowledge the Jackas faithful. He told supporters how proud the team was to represent the community and vowed they would return even stronger next season.

Men’s Thirds Division 5 – Elimination Semi-Final
AJAX v Hawthorn – Gary Smorgon Oval, Sunday 17 August 2025
AJAX’s newest team, competing in Division 5, bowed out of finals in heartbreaking fashion with a narrow two-point loss to Hawthorn.
The Jackas controlled much of the contest, holding small leads at each of the first three breaks, but were overrun in the final term as Hawthorn kicked straighter in front of goal. Despite finishing with more scoring shots, AJAX went down 7.19 (52) to 8.6 (54).
Jude Goldfarb was the main target up forward with three goals, while Adrian Rosenwax was named best afield. The result ended a promising debut season in which the side compiled a 10–5 record, highlighted by a seven-game winning streak and a second-place ladder finish.

Looking Ahead
The AJAX Premier C Seniors now turn their attention to a preliminary final against Parkdale Vultures on Saturday, 13 September 2025. The Jackas will look to carry their momentum into another strong performance, and Maccabi wishes them the very best of luck as they continue their finals campaign.
