Maccabi Ajax Netball – Cyclones Match Report
Match report – Round 12 MANC Cyclones vs Omega Power
The first quarter was a tight contest as both defences were on top with each team only scoring 2 goals.
Kai led the way in Defence whilst Leah scored some early goals.
The 2nd qtr was dissapointing with the Power scoring 9 goals. The Cyclones lost concentration and looked abit flat footed. The main highlight was a sensational hop, skip and goal from Jordy which excited the crowd and her team mates.
At half time, the Cyclones trailed 11-3.
The Coach moved the magnets around in the 3rd quarter and the girls exploded with the best quarter of the season.
Ciara K gave the team excellent drive through the Centre whilst Kai, Charlotte and Kiara B formed a very strong defensive trio.
Up the other end of the Court, it was mayhem! Sunday moved to WA and presented well. Jaz dominated the quarter with 7 goals and combined really well with Noa who impressed in attack and scored her first goal for the season.
The cyclones reduced the deficit to only 3, with the Power leading 14-11.
Unfortunately the girls ran out of steam in the last qtr, eventually losing 21-14.
Like last week, the Cyclones showed they can match it with the best teams, beating the 2nd placed Power 11-10 in the second half.
The match was played with a very high intensity. It’s amazing to see the considerable improvements made every week.
Go Cyclones! Go Maccabi!
