North Caulfield Maccabi FC Season Wrap Up
BRING ON SEASON 2025!
North Caulfield Maccabi Football (Soccer) Club finished Season 2024 just two points off fourth (4th) place in one of the most evenly contested Men’s State League competitions for years.
Nick Radecki, in his second season as Head Coach, continued to build on his great work from last season with the club winning nine games in 2024.
Remarkably, Maccabi has remained in the Men’s State League 2 division for eighteen (18) consecutive years – which is said to be a Football Victoria record – and a testament to our consistency and fighting spirit as a club.
The final match of Season 2024 was particularly poignant, with almost fifty (50) past players gathering to witness the club defeat Mooroolbark at Caulfield Park, alongside the unveiling of our club’s new Honour Boards.
The Honour Boards are in recognition of our Life Members, Past Presidents, Past Coaches, Best & Fairest Winners, Top Goal Scorers, League Best & Fairest Winners, and members of the Team of the Century. Importantly, the Honour Boards document our club history, and competition leagues since 1980. Thank you to Andrew Rajcher and ‘The Wolf & Dora Rajcher Memorial Fund’ for supporting this important club initiative.
Season 2024 officially concluded with our club’s ‘Best & Fairest’ evening held at Caulfield Park Bowls Club.
The club would like to send a huge congratulations to all of the 2024 award winners:
- Senior Best & Fairest: Daniel Sacks
- Senior Best & Fairest Runner-Up: Joshua Hodes
- Michael Lowinger Best Club Person: Joshua Mindel
- Most Courageous & Determined: Ryan Knight
- Most Improved: Noah Barak
- Senior Top Goal Scorer: Noah Barak
- Senior Coach’s Award: Saul Alemeh
- Reserves Best & Fairest: Jeremy Morgenstern
- Reserves Top Goal Scorer: Jeremy Morgenstern
- Life Membership Award: Zhenya Elgart
- Daniel Sacks – who with his first Seniors Best & Fairest victory becomes only the sixth player in the past 30-years at our club to have won both the ‘Seniors Best & Fairest’ Award and the ‘Seniors Top Goal Scorer’ Award.
- Seniors Best & Fairest Runner-Up Joshua Hodes who has overcome two (2) knee reconstructions to show incredible resilience and character.
- Zhenya Elgart – who has been involved with our club since 2000. Zhenya has given 25-years of consecutive service as both a player and Committee member and administrator, and is now a deserved Life Member.
Preseason training for Season 2025 will commence on Tuesday 26 November 2024 at Caulfield Park – further details to follow. All past and present players are welcome and encouraged to join in preseason training as we look to re-introduce a Thirds side in 2025.
We hope you all have a safe and productive off-season and look forward to a huge 2025!
