NSW Tenpin Bowling Club
Our History
The Maccabi NSW Tenpin Bowling Club is one of the oldest Maccabi Clubs in Australia.
Starting in 1963, our club will celebrate their 60th year in 2023 – which is a huge achievement.
The peak in our bowling history was at Rushcutters Bay Bowl, where we took up both 2 floors and had multiple leagues consisting of teams of 5, 4, 3 and doubles.
Since those days, the club has undergone many changes.
Our Club Today
As the longest serving president of our Maccabi NSW Tenpin Bowling Club, Howard Silver is extremely proud of the club, the way it’s run, and our achievements.
Our annual ‘Greg Small Memorial Tournament’ celebrates and remembers the life of tenpin bowler, Greg Small, who was tragically taken from us in the Maccabiah Games bridge disaster in 1997.
In addition, we run many other tournaments, like the NSW Jewish Open Scratch and Handicap Tournaments, our Traditional Mother’s and Father’s Day Tournaments, Baron Gold Knockout, The Presidents Cup, and the new ‘V Sydney Rams’ Tournament.
We bowl Monday nights at Manhattan Superbowl in Mascot with our dedicated members.
Our league committee continues to keep us successful after all these years.
Our main vision and goal is to increase the membership and bring in new, younger bowlers to ensure continued success for the next generation of Jewish bowlers.
Who can join?
Anyone that wants to have fun is welcome to join us at Maccabi NSW Tenpin Bowling Club.
Our handicap system means everyone can compete on a level playing field.
The environment is safe and clean, with the centre undergoing major lane renovations, so it’s now world class. The Bistro also serves great food!
