MACCABI NSW HALL OF FAME SELECTION GUIDELINES
SPORTSPERSONS
- The Candidate must be a Jewish Australian citizen who has achieved their sporting feats having been resident in NSW for a significant period of their sporting life.
- The selection committee (Committee) shall consider a Candidate’s outstanding achievement in their chosen field of sport.
- Selection of individuals in teams will be based on the same criteria as individuals.
- The Committee may consider a Candidate’s;

- Individual record
- Ability
- Integrity
- Sportsmanship
- Character
- Degree of difficulty in attaining their level of achievement.
5. Additionally, when considering the Candidate’s suitability the following shall be considered:

- Highest representation achieved in Open Competition
- Performances achieved at all levels including highest level of representation
- Highest representation achieved in Jewish competition
- Performances achieved in Jewish competition
- Perceived or assessed ability
- Candidate’s integrity and suitability to have this honour bestowed on them
- Candidate’s character including their support of and commitment to the Maccabi movement and its principles.
6. Nominations can be submitted to Maccabi NSW at any time online through this link [insert link].
7. Nominations will be called for no less than 6 months prior to the presentation date via Jewish press and electronic media.
8. Any nomination that has been considered but not selected by the Committee can be resubmitted at any time in the future.
9. Nominations for consideration by the Committee may be made by any person or organisation and must be submitted no more than 2 months after the date when nominations were first called.
10. The Committee will be appointed by Maccabi NSW Executive (the Executive) no later than the closing date for nominations and will comprise 3 persons. The Chairperson will be appointed by the Executive.
11. The Committee reserves the right to seek endorsement of any nomination by whatever means at their disposal.
12. The Committee will be the arbiter and will present the successful Candidate/s to the Executive for ratification no more than 1 month after the closing date for nominations.
13. Should there be failure to ratify, the Chairperson of the Committee and the President of the Executive will meet to ascertain the circumstances of the failure to ratify within 7 days of presenting to the Executive.
14. No more than 3 candidates shall be inducted at any Hall of Fame Award Ceremony.
