Maccabi Golf 2026 Presidents Cup
The 2026 Maccabi Golf President’s Cup was held at The Heritage Golf & Country Club from 19–22 March, with Victoria proudly hosting teams of 12 players each from New South Wales and Western Australia. As the premier event on the Maccabi golfing calendar, this year’s tournament lived up to its reputation both on and off the course.
Participants were treated to outstanding conditions throughout the four days, with perfect weather complementing the pristine presentation of both Heritage golf courses. All players and officials were accommodated at the nearby Yarra Valley Lodge, creating a seamless and highly enjoyable experience that contributed to what many participants described as the best President’s Cup held to date.
The event commenced with the President’s Dinner, where Tony Beaconsfield and Joe Dorfman formally welcomed all players. Both emphasised that while competition is central to the event, its deeper purpose lies in strengthening community connection, unity and the enduring Maccabi spirit—particularly important in the current environment.
On Day 1 Victoria set the tone early with a dominant performance, achieving a clean sweep of matches.
- Victoria: 6 points
- Western Australia: 2 points
- New South Wales: 1 point
Competition intensified on the second day, with Victoria and Western Australia sharing the honours.

Final Results:

Victoria’s success was a true team effort with all players contributing and underpinned by several outstanding individual performances. Players who won all their matches across the three days were:
- Joe Dorfman

- Rob Goldstein
- Phil Serry
- Darren Seidl
- Jett Nathan
A significant addition to this year’s event was the introduction of the Allen Garb Award, a perpetual trophy recognising a player who demonstrates exceptional enthusiasm, team spirit, connection, and performance.
The award honours Allen Garb, who has participated in every President’s Cup since its inception and whose dedication and leadership have been instrumental in the growth and success of the event. In a surprise moment, Allen was presented with this honour and was both humbled and deeply appreciative.
Allen then presented the inaugural award to Darren Seidl (Victoria), a deserving recipient who embodied the values the award represents.
The event also showcased an impressive diversity of age groups, highlighting the strength and future of Maccabi golf. Of note was 13-year-old Benjamin Lewis (Victoria), playing off a remarkable handicap of 3, alongside a strong contingent of players aged 20–45 and experienced veterans.
The 2026 President’s Cup set a new benchmark for the event, both in terms of organisation and overall experience. With New South Wales set to host in 2027, preparations are already underway to build on the high standards established by Victoria.
Beyond the competition, the 2026 Maccabi Golf President’s Cup once again demonstrated the power of sport to unite, connect and inspire. The spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship and community was evident throughout, ensuring that the event will be remembered as one of the most successful in its history.
